School Nurse and Health Information

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Krista Mericle, RN, and I am the district school nurse. I am pleased to also have my health assistant, Jessica Urioste, with me this year. As of right now, the school based health center is at Sunrise Medical Group. If your child needs to be seen, please call 461-8631.

Please make sure your child's immunizations are up to date. All students entering the 7th grade must have the meningococcal and Tdap vaccine. This is in effect for any child enrolling in the district either virtual or in person. You will need to contact your local primary care providers for an appointment. Please make sure your well child checks are being done. New Mexico Department of Health has put out new guidelines for immunizations.
Update: Any students that are not up-to-date that are currently enrolled will not be disenrolled due to lack of immunizations for the rest of the 2020-2021 school year. Any new student enrolling in the district must be up-to-date prior to starting school.

The Quay County Public Health Office will not be doing child vaccinations due to Covid-19 restrictions at this time.
