PUBLIC NOTICE

Tucumcari Public Schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year.

The School Health Based Clinic will be moving services for students from Tucumcari High School to Sunrise Medical Clinic starting Monday, March 30th. Please call the clinic to arrange to be seen if needed. They will still honor NO Co-pays and NO Deductibles for students.

Beginning Monday April 6, 2020, in an effort to minimize person to person contact during this time, the Tucumcari Public Schools Mesa Cafeteria Curbside meal service will be once daily from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and will be available Monday through Thursday. Breakfast and lunch meals will be served together. Friday breakfast and lunch meals will be available on Thursday.

The district is working diligently on a Continuous Learning Plan. Your child’s teacher will get into contact with you either by phone, email or text. Our goal is to implement the learning plan on Monday April 6.  Plateau is providing 60 days of free internet access that is run through by the school. If your household does not have internet services, please send us an email at  tech@tucumcarischools.com so that this service can be provided to you.

Please respect social distancing.  Please refrain from taking children to parks or playgrounds as COVID-19 can survive on metal, glass and plastic surfaces. Stay home or have playtime outside your home or in your yards.

Many questions have been brought up regarding collecting your child’s personal items from their lockers. At this point, our goal is to keep our schools closed off to the public to have a fighting chance against the spread of COVID-19. We will keep you informed as to when it is safe enough to allow these items to be picked up.

If you need to talk to Krista Mericle, the school nurse, please contact her at (575) 403-7983 or her assistant Jessica Urioste at (575) 403-5720. They will be available Monday-Friday from 8am to 12pm and then again from 1pm to 4pm.

Any updates will be posted to our website as they become available.
